Sky Blue iPhone 17 Air Dummy Unit Spotted in Online Video, Showcasing Design

Apple is expected to unveil its iPhone 17 series in September this year, with the lineup likely to include four models — iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. The iPhone 17 Air is rumoured to be a new addition that could replace the existing Plus models. Over the past few weeks, leaks about its specifications, design, and colour options have surfaced online. Now, a tipster has shared a video showing a dummy unit of the iPhone 17 Air in a striking “Sky Blue” finish.

Sky Blue Finish Inspired by MacBook Air

The video, posted by tipster Majin Bu (@MajinBuOfficial) on X (formerly Twitter), shows the iPhone 17 Air from multiple angles. According to the leak, the “Sky Blue” option appears similar to the shade used on the 2025 MacBook Air with the M4 chip. If accurate, this would mark a slight shift from Apple’s recent preference for muted tones.

Design and Button Layout

The dummy unit features a single rear camera inside a pill-shaped housing. On the right side, there’s a power button and a secondary flush-mounted button below it, likely serving as a dedicated camera control, similar to the one introduced with the iPhone 16 series. The left side reportedly houses the volume buttons and an Action Button placed above them.

Leaks suggest the iPhone 17 Air will launch in four colours — Black, Light Blue (Sky Blue), Light Gold, and White.

Possible Display and Size

Although the video doesn’t show the phone’s front, earlier reports indicate the iPhone 17 Air could feature a display larger than the iPhone 17 Pro but smaller than the iPhone 17 Pro Max. This positions it as a likely replacement for the iPhone Plus model.

The handset is expected to sport a 6.6-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. At 5.5mm thick, it could be slightly slimmer than the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge (5.8mm).

Expected Specifications

The iPhone 17 Air is rumoured to be powered by Apple’s upcoming A19 chip and carry a 2,800mAh battery. Camera-wise, it may feature a single 48-megapixel rear sensor and a 24-megapixel front camera for selfies.

With Apple’s September launch event just weeks away, more concrete details about the iPhone 17 Air — and whether it truly replaces the Plus variant — should emerge soon.
