The Vivo V60 has officially landed in the Indian market, aiming to continue the brand’s reputation for delivering camera-focused smartphones. Following in the footsteps of its predecessor, the Vivo V50 — launched roughly six months ago — the V60 carries forward Vivo’s fruitful partnership with Zeiss, which has played a major role in elevating the imaging capabilities of the brand’s flagship devices. We’ve already seen the benefits of this collaboration in models like the Vivo X200 Pro and Vivo X200 FE, and the V60 appears to carry that DNA forward.
But this isn’t just a photography powerhouse. Vivo has packed the V60 with several interesting specifications, AI-powered features, and a competitive price tag, starting at ₹36,999 for the base variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. In a crowded segment, does the Vivo V60 have what it takes to stand out? Here’s our first look.
Design and Build
At first glance, the Vivo V60’s design feels familiar yet refined. It retains the slim, rounded frame of the V50 but introduces a notable change in the camera module, which now looks more like the one seen on the Vivo X200 FE. The handset offers a premium in-hand feel and includes a speaker grille, SIM slot, microphone, and USB Type-C port at the bottom, while the power and volume buttons rest on the right edge. The left frame remains clean for a minimalist look.
For durability, the phone comes with an IP68 rating, making it resistant to dust, water immersion, and high-pressure jets. It’s a welcome inclusion for a device in this price range.
Display Experience
On the front, the Vivo V60 sports a 6.77-inch Full HD+ quad-curved AMOLED panel with a resolution of 1,080 × 2,392 pixels. The screen supports a 120Hz refresh rate and boasts an impressive 5,000 nits peak local brightness, ensuring excellent outdoor visibility. Initial impressions suggest deep blacks, punchy colours, and sharp details. The panel also houses an in-display fingerprint sensor, which has been snappy in our early testing.
Performance and Software
The V60 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 SoC, making it the second device in India to feature this chipset, after the Realme 15 Pro 5G. Paired with up to 16GB LPDDR4X RAM and 512GB UFS 2.2 storage, it should comfortably handle daily tasks and multitasking.
On the software front, it runs Android 15-based Funtouch OS 15, with Vivo committing to four years of OS updates and six years of security patches — a strong promise for long-term use.
AI Features
One of the biggest highlights of the Vivo V60 is its suite of AI-driven tools. These include:
-
AI Image Expander – Extends image edges by analysing content and structure.
-
AI Smart Call Assistant – Transcribes and translates calls in real time, then summarises the conversation.
-
AI Captions – Offers real-time conversation transcription.
-
Block Spam Call – Uses AI to detect and flag telemarketing, fraud, and spam calls.
We’ll dive deeper into the real-world usefulness of these features in our full review.
Camera System
Photography is where the V60 aims to shine. It features a Zeiss-backed triple rear camera setup:
-
50MP primary camera (Sony IMX766, OIS)
-
50MP telephoto camera (Sony IMX882, OIS, 3x optical zoom)
-
8MP ultra-wide-angle lens
The setup is accompanied by an Aura Light that doubles as a flash. On the front, you get a 50MP selfie shooter. The camera UI remains familiar, with features like Zeiss Multifocal Portraits (five focal lengths) and a Wedding vLog mode for special event captures.
Battery and Charging
Powering the device is a large 6,500mAh battery with support for 90W FlashCharge wired fast charging, which should ensure minimal downtime.
Competition and Outlook
At ₹36,999, the Vivo V60 faces stiff competition from the Realme GT 7, Oppo Reno 14 5G, and Vivo’s own T4 Ultra 5G. While its price point puts it in a competitive bracket, the combination of premium design, Zeiss-backed cameras, AI features, and long software support gives it a strong fighting chance.
We’ll be putting the Vivo V60 through its paces to see how it holds up in day-to-day use, camera performance, and battery life. Stay tuned for our full review.
